Too often we see retreats as an excuse or opportunity to get away from 'real life', to escape from problems or just to re-ignite a spiritual fire.
I view retreats quite differently, in fact retreats shouldn't be used to escape but instead to train. Training for the spiritual battles that face us daily, equipping ourselves with the tools to do God's work, to persevere and conquer those mountains that we face.
We not only challenge ourselves spiritually on these retreats, but emotionally, relationally and physically. Understanding that if we are to live a holistic life we must train holistically. Recognizing how each area is connected to one another and allowing God to permeate in it all.
