WHERE THE STRESS OF PLANNING LANDS ON FIGURING OUT WHAT TO WEAR...
Stone Mountain Ministries sees great value in coming together to worship, dig deep and experience God in a deeper, more profound way. One of the ways to accomplish this is through the use of retreats, where as a church or small/large group you can set aside space and time to grow together, challenge one another and leave better equipped in God's word to take on the day to day obstacles we face in life.
While many of you would agree with me, at the same time no one wants to organize it. There a usually a few reasons that surround this mindset:
- Retreats are a thing for older generations
- Retreats take way too much work to put together
- Retreats can be so boring...
All legitimate thoughts, in fact, I've been to those retreats... I've been to the retreats that had were filled with women 30 years my senior, I've watched committees 'settle' with the bare minimum effort because it took too much time, and I've been at the retreats that gave the same effects as ZzzQuil.
That's why we are offering to do all the hard work for you, and you just get to show up and enjoy.
What if you could host a retreat
book the speaker
have it all organized for you and all you have to do is
send an email?
RETREATS ARE A THING FOR OLDER GENERATIONS
Retreats are not just for the older generations! In fact that is the exact mindset that drives barriers between the generations in the first place. The idea that some things are just for the young folk or only for the older generation is what I call a wall builder, not a bridge builder.. So instead, let's create a space that caters to all generations, creating an opportunity for conversation and relationship between the young and old.
RETREATS ARE TOO MUCH WORK
You are right, retreats take a lot of hours, work and coordination. They can be an intimidating event to coordinate; how do you figure pricing, how much food, what kind of activities, what theme and on top of that finding a decent speaker. If there isn't a member of staff willing to head up the committee then it is left down to the volunteers, many who do not have the natural skills, time or patience to take on the planning retreat beast. So what if instead of trying to organize an event from scratch you could hire someone who has done it before. Someone who can organize, plan, speak and execute an amazing retreat for your group. An event that will help build bridges, break walls and create excitement in being apart of this family of God! There is a retreat for every budget, even the most basic retreats without the bells and whistles can leave a lasting impact.
